About the Felix Quoting Engine
The Felix Quoting Engine allows you to generate premium quotes from multiple insurance companies right from within Felix. This saves you time and effort because it means that you no longer have to manually calculate premiums or enter client data into multiple portals to put options together for your client. Instead, these premiums are generated by our Quoting Engine.
How does it work?
The Felix Quoting Engine generates premium quotes in two ways:
- Using API integrations that Felix has with insurer systems
- Using Felix-built insurer rates
What's the difference
Let's say you generate a premium quote using the Felix Quoting Engine. If Felix has an API integration with the insurer you have selected then Felix sends your client's data to the insurer via this integration. The insurer's system then calculates your client's premium and sends that number back to Felix - the calculation is not performed by Felix, it's performed by the insurer. The advantage of this is that it doesn't matter how often the insurer changes their rates - you'll always have access to the up-to-date premiums via our integration.
There are a lot of insurers that we have on our Quoting Engine that we don't actually have integrations with. We include them in our Quoting Engine by taking their static rates that they publish to brokers (also known as rate sheets, rate books, rating tables, tariffs etc.) and rebuilding them in our system. That way you still get access to instantaneous pricing for these insurance products but the downside is that when the insurer updates their rates then we need to make those updates on our side too.

These are provided to you on an 'as-is' and 'as available' basis. Felix does not give any warranties, whether express or implied, as to the suitability or usability of these API integrations.
